A course for nurses to learn how to help hospitalized patients maintain their milk supply, avoid complications, and keep their babies receiving breastmilk safely. A general lack of breastfeeding knowledge exists in the hospital setting outside of the maternity department. Many caregivers lack the education to provide evidence-based care to support and protect lactation for the breastfeeding dyad during hospitalization. Nurses need access to quality breastfeeding/lactation education to help inform care and provide evidence-based interventions.
